Meet Kierra D. Gray
Kierra D. Gray (MSJ, MSW, LMSW, MBA Candidate) is the Founder and Principal Consultant of The Gray Collective. Kierra is a clinician, published content creator, and journalist who assists others in concretely achieving their short- and long-term goals. She’s a diversity and wellness changemaker on a mission to transform work environments that reflect key values in diversity and inclusion. Her platform also aims to connect women on a journey of self-discovery, unlearning, healing, and overall mental health. She’s on a mission to make private practices and corporations more inclusive, particularly for Black women, as this demographic influences nearly everything in mainstream culture. In short, she’s assessing these structures from a mental health and social relations lens.
As a master’s graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work, Kierra studied Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health. She also has a robust educational background in Women’s Studies, Afro-American and African Studies, and Writing from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor and broadcast journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is currently pursuing her MBA from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Her journey aligns with her purpose of impacting underrepresented groups in different spaces. She has since merged her experience in journalism, research, and social work to develop action plans for professionals and caretakers, especially women and Black mothers, to live the lives they deserve. In addition, she wants other women to live on their terms unapologetically.
A proud Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. member, Kierra uses her experiences, studies, and a wide variety of life experiences to encourage women to take up space and forge their divine path. When she isn’t raising her daughter to become the next generation’s free-spirited girl, she takes every opportunity to travel the world, including places like England, Ghana, and South Africa.
